我 从 哪 里 来
My name is Yile Chang (常逸乐), and I was born in Dengfeng, Henan Province, China — the city where the legendary Shaolin Temple has stood for over 1,500 years.
This is no ordinary hometown. Dengfeng is the martial arts capital of China, home to dozens of world-renowned kung fu academies — Tagou, Xiaolong, Epo, Yanlu, and many more. Growing up here, discipline, strength, and tradition weren't a class — they were the air I breathed.
From a very young age, I developed a deep passion for Chinese martial arts. But the path that brought me to the Kirin Whip — that came later. It came from a single moment in a public square.
我叫常逸乐，出生在河南省登封市——千年古刹少林寺所在地。这里是中国当之无愧的武术之都，藏着塔沟武校、小龙武校、鹅坡武校、延鲁武校等数十所享誉全国的武术学校。
在这样一个自律、力量与传统融入日常的地方长大，我从小就对中国武术有着深深的热爱。但真正把我带到麒麟鞭的那条路——是后来的事。来自一个广场上的瞬间。
改 变 一 切 的 那 一 声 响
One day in 2019, walking through a public square in Dengfeng, I passed a man practicing with a steel chain whip. The movements were sharp, fluid, impossibly powerful. But it was the sound that seized me — a crisp, explosive crack like thunder splitting the open air.
2019 年的某一天，我和往常一样走过登封市的一个广场。一位练麒麟鞭的师傅正在那里挥鞭——动作锐利、流畅、力道惊人。但真正击中我的，是那一声清脆而炸裂的破空音爆，像是雷鸣劈开了平静的空气。
From that day, I was obsessed. I traced the history. I learned the craft. I sought out elders across China. What began as fascination quickly became my life's direction.
从那天起，我像着了魔一样——翻找历史资料，研习工艺，奔赴各地拜访前辈。由一时的着迷，迅速变成了一生的方向。

登 封 广 场 · 初 见 麒 麟 鞭
The first crack heard in a square in Dengfeng. The beginning of everything — researching the history, learning the techniques, traveling China to study under elder craftsmen.
登封广场上听到的第一声雷鸣——一切的起点。开始查阅历史，研习鞭法，奔赴各地拜访老一辈匠人和习练者。
从 淘 宝 小 店 到 注 册 实 体
Began selling on China's top e-commerce platforms — Taobao, Pinduoduo, JD.com, Douyin. Every whip hand-welded with professional-grade tapered chains. The brand "嵩之武 (Songzhi Wu)" became known in the Chinese Kirin Whip community for one thing: uncompromising quality.
In January 2022, I officially registered 登封市新启望商贸有限公司 (Dengfeng Xinqiwang Trade Co., Ltd.) — turning a one-person workshop into a real, regulated company.
In December 2024, the "嵩之武" trademark was officially approved by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (Registration No. 79624662). The name 嵩 comes from Mount Song, home of Shaolin; 武 means martial arts. The brand is a tribute to Dengfeng itself.
在国内电商平台开店——淘宝、拼多多、京东、抖音四大主流平台全部入驻。每一条鞭子坚持手工焊接，专业级锥形渐变钢链。"嵩之武"在国内麒麟鞭圈子里逐渐成为用料扎实、专业、可信赖的标签。
2022 年 1 月，正式注册成立登封市新启望商贸有限公司。2024 年 12 月 28 日，"嵩之武"商标由国家知识产权局正式核准注册（注册号第 79624662 号）。"嵩"取自嵩山少林寺，"武"代表中国武术之乡——这个名字，承载着登封这座千年武术古城的文化基因。
第 一 单 漂 洋 过 海
In 2025, I made a decision many friends couldn't understand: take the Kirin Whip global. In China, millions practice it every day. Outside China, almost no one knew it existed.
I built the website KirinWhip.com myself — designed the pages, wrote the English content, shot the product videos, answered every email personally. I built accounts on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
In June 2025, the first overseas order arrived.
2025 年，我做了一个让很多朋友不太理解的决定——把麒麟鞭推向海外。在中国，每天有几百万人在公园、广场、训练馆里练麒麟鞭，但在中国之外，几乎没人知道这东西存在。
我自己掏钱搭建了海外独立站 KirinWhip.com——自己设计页面、自己写英文内容、自己拍产品视频、自己回邮件、自己一条一条建立Facebook、Instagram、YouTube、TikTok、X 五个平台账号。2025 年 6 月，第一笔海外订单到来。
四 大 洲 · 七 国 之 远
From a workshop in Dengfeng, Kirin Whips now travel to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Ireland — and a growing list of countries. The term "Kirin Whip" — barely existing in English before 2025 — is now the international standard, used by global whip enthusiasts on every major platform.
In one year, this art went from "unknown in the West" to "recognized by every major figure in the international whip community." That story is in the next chapter.
从登封的一间工坊，麒麟鞭已发往美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、德国、瑞典、爱尔兰等多个国家，覆盖北美、欧洲、亚洲、大洋洲四大洲。"Kirin Whip" 这个英文术语——2025 年前几乎不存在，如今已成为国际公认的标准称谓。

Anthony's career spans five decades — choreographing whip work for The Mask of Zorro, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, training Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, and starring opposite Jet Li in Fearless. He has handled more whips than almost anyone alive.

On May 10, 2026, Anthony posted a video on his Facebook performing his signature "De Longis Rolling Loop" technique with a Kirin Whip. It was the first time a Hollywood weapons master had publicly used the Chinese Kirin Whip — not as a stage prop, but as a serious martial art.
