Forged in Dengfeng, home of Shaolin, for 1,700 years.
多 重
All weights in pounds (1 lb ≈ 0.45 kg). ★ marks the recommended starting weight for newcomers.
三 维 选 鞭
多 重
From a 1.5 lb ribbon of cracking sound, to a 220 lb titan dragged across the earth. Weight defines what your whip can do.
链 条
Eleven chain forms across four families — flowing chains for grace, sculpted chains for striking power. Chain defines how your whip feels.
把 手
Bearing or fixed; cowhide tendon, leather, or sandalwood; for long-handle, stainless or rare hardwood. Handle defines how your whip fits your grip.
按 重 量 选 鞭
Nine tiers, each with its own purpose. Watch each one in motion before you choose.
轻 鞭 系 列
Three tiers from feather-light to mid-heavy. The realm of tricks, forms, and daily practice.
超 轻 鞭
Lighter than a sword, swift as a ribbon. The Ultra Light is too floaty for most beginners — its real magic shines in dual-whip choreography or a child's first lesson. Best held in pairs, one in each hand.
轻 鞭
The truest meaning of a Kirin Whip lives in this range. Light enough for a child, expressive enough for a grandmaster. If you've never held one before, start here — tricks, forms, and a satisfying crack all come naturally.
偏 重 鞭
A different kind of practice. At this weight, tricks become impossible — but the crack grows commanding, the workout grows real. Choose this if you want sound and strength, not finesse.
重 鞭 系 列
Where strength meets craft. From entry heavy to legendary commissions — the realm of those who train like warriors.
入 门 重 鞭
Where strength training meets traditional craft. The first heavyweight tier — accessible to those committed to building real shoulder, core, and grip endurance. Crack thunder; train like a warrior.
超 重 鞭
A test of will. Twenty pounds at the end of an arm requires technique earned over months. Not for newcomers — but those who graduate from Entry Heavy find here a deeper meditation: every crack is a victory.
极 限 重 鞭
Over thirty pounds, sometimes much more. The whip becomes an extension of a strongman's body — every motion deliberate, every crack felt in the chest. Few who pick this up ever go back.
传 奇 巨 鞭
Two hundred and twenty pounds, sometimes much more. So heavy it cannot be lifted — only dragged across the earth, where it carves grooves and shakes the ground with each crack. These are not products; they are commissioned monuments to the craft.
Each Titan is forged to specification — weight, length, chain pattern. Lead times and pricing by conversation.
info@kirinwhip.com →长 杆 系 列
A 1.2-meter handle multiplies leverage. The two-handed grip opens new tricks. The rope whip variant lives here too.
长 杆 新 手
A 1.2-meter handle changes everything. Leverage multiplies the crack; the two-handed grip opens new tricks. Whether new to long-handle or just curious — this is the comfortable starting weight.
长 杆 老 手
Pure leverage, fully unleashed. With a longer arc and a heavier head, every crack turns into thunder. Earth-shattering doesn't begin to describe it — but only those who've earned strength and timing should attempt it.
链 条 · 把 手
Weight tells you what your whip can do. Chain tells you how it feels. Handle tells you how it fits your grip.
链 条
Eleven chain forms across the craft. The first question to ask: how do you want it to feel?
顺 滑 流
Smooth oval links, fluid in the swing. The chain glides like water — graceful, expressive, and forgiving for tricks.
爆 发 流
Block-segment links accelerate sharply through the air, delivering a more concentrated crack with stronger explosive power. Despite the bold sculpted look — they can also flow into fluid tricks.
For newcomers, the difference is subtle — both feel excellent. As you advance, your hands will tell you which one is yours.
顺 滑 系 列 · 5 forms
平 面 链
The classic. Smooth oval links, clean profile. Most fluid in the swing — the everyman's choice.
螺 纹 链
Each link is a forged hex nut, flattened by hand. The internal threading creates a subtle ridged texture — mechanical pedigree, classic chain rhythm.
双 棱 麦 穗
Twin parallel ridges along each link. Refined visual texture, rhythmic glint under light.
钴 合 金 麦 穗
Wheat-link pattern in premium cobalt alloy. Silvery sheen, exceptional durability — flow with longevity.
双 瓣 链
Bearing-steel chain in paired petal links. Looks sculpted, but feels surprisingly fluid in the hand.
爆 发 系 列 · 5 forms
龙 骨 链
Vertebra-like segments. Iconic sculpted profile, sharp cutting crack.
竹 节 链
Knotted bamboo aesthetic. Each section a rhythmic pulse in the swing.
枣 核 链
Tapered oval beads strung along the chain. Elegant silhouette, explosive crack.
葫 芦 链
Auspicious gourd-shaped beads — a Chinese symbol of fortune and abundance.
苍 龙 链
Cobalt-forged with dragon-scale relief. Newest addition, premium alloy, sharpest report.

锰 钢 链
An industrial-strength alloy — the same grade used in crane chains and heavy lifting equipment. Reserved exclusively for our Heavyweight Power series, where its hardness and impact resistance make it the only sensible choice. Lesser steels would fatigue under the punishment.
Dyneema
Dimension
Inner Manganese Core
绳 鞭
A different category entirely — and one of our most striking creations. A vibrant synthetic-fiber outer braid — Dyneema or Dimension — wraps a manganese chain core. Visually mesmerizing in motion, ferociously powerful in the crack. Quieter to swing, safer at distance, yet delivers explosive force matching pure steel. Lives in the Long Handle collection.
View the Rope Whip →把 手
Two questions: how does it move, and what does it feel like?
固 定 把 手
The chain is rigidly connected to the handle. This gives you precise directional control — you always know exactly where the chain is going. Experts who perform complex routines and ornamental whip techniques overwhelmingly prefer the fixed handle.
轴 承 把 手
An internal ball-bearing connector that rotates freely. Rarely used in standard Kirin Whip practice — it is specifically designed for the Long-Pole Kirin Whip, where the practitioner holds a long rigid pole and the rotation is needed to swing the chain. For everyday Kirin Whip practice, choose the fixed handle.
All beginners must start with a fixed handle. The fixed handle is where you build your technique, your timing, and your muscle memory. All advanced ornamental and routine whip forms depend on fixed-handle foundations that cannot be skipped.
短 把 材 质 · 3 choices
牛 筋 材 质
Wear-resistant, weatherproof, and maintains grip in all conditions. The workhorse of daily practice — built to outlast everything else. Available in many colors.
牛 皮 材 质
Naturally textured leather that molds to your hand over time. Develops a personalized patina with use, offering superior grip comfort for long sessions.
檀 木 材 质
A collector-grade material with natural fragrance and striking wood grain. A statement of craftsmanship — best as a gift, heirloom, or display piece.
长 杆 材 质 · 3 choices · 1.2 m, splittable
不 锈 钢
Strongest and most durable. Required for super-heavy chains — wood cannot handle the force. Industrial sharpness.
红 梨 木
Warm reddish grain. Lighter than steel, softer in the hands, ideal for long sessions. Apply a thin coat of walnut oil every few months to prevent cracking.
鸡 翅 木
Dark grain pattern resembling chicken-wing feathers. The most distinctive look of all our handles. Treat occasionally with walnut oil to preserve the wood.
常 见 问 题
保 养
304 stainless steel chains require no maintenance at all — they will not rust, even under regular use. Cobalt alloy, bearing steel, and manganese steel chains simply need to stay dry and away from humidity — no oiling needed, just don't let them sit wet.
The only part that needs active care is the wooden long-pole handles (red pear wood, wenge): apply a thin coat of walnut oil every few months to keep the wood from drying out and cracking.
Industrial rubber, cowhide, and stainless steel handles need no special care at all.
The cracker — the colored fiber tip — wears down naturally with use. Replace it when it has frayed to less than half its original length. Each whip ships with replacement crackers, and additional packs are available inexpensively from any product page or by emailing info@kirinwhip.com.
入 门
A clean crack typically comes within a few days of consistent practice. Tricks and martial forms take weeks to months depending on weight and your goals. Heavier whips have a steeper physical curve — start lighter than you think. Most newcomers find the 1.7–2.2 lb Light tier the most rewarding starting point.
Both are excellent. Flowing chains (Flat, Threaded, Wheat, Double Petal) glide more fluidly — best for tricks and flow practice. Striking chains (Dragon Bone, Bamboo, Date Pit, Gourd, Azure Dragon) deliver a sharper, more concentrated crack. For newcomers the difference is subtle — choose by aesthetic preference; the rest comes with practice.
安 全
A Kirin Whip is more predictable than a Western bullwhip — the chain is heavy and follows a clear arc, less prone to unexpected recoil. But it is still a steel chain at high speed. Keep at least 5 meters (16 ft) clear of bystanders, pets, and breakables. Wear closed-toe shoes. Start slow and build up gradually. Gloves are included with every whip.
Outdoors is ideal — a quiet park, parking lot, courtyard, or driveway. You'll need a clear circle of at least 4 meters (13 ft) in radius for normal whips, more for heavyweight or long-handle. Indoor practice is only suitable for very large open halls (martial arts studios, large garages). Both concrete and grass are fine.
传 承 · 物 流
Two distinct traditions. A bullwhip is rope or leather, achieving its crack through a tapered braid that breaks the sound barrier at the tip. A Kirin Whip is metal-chain, achieving its crack through chain segments accelerating to crack speed. Different feel, different sound, different aesthetic — the Kirin Whip is heavier, more theatrical, and originates from Chinese martial arts rather than cattle herding. The Kirin Whip's history runs 1,700 years deep, modernized in 1999 by Master Zhao Chiyu.
Email info@kirinwhip.com immediately with photos of the issue. Every whip ships in shock-resistant packaging and is verified twice before leaving the workshop — but if anything is wrong, we resolve it (replacement, refund, or both). Each whip's exact contents are described in detail on its product page.
