This is the Stainless Steel Dragon Bone Kirin Whip — the single most iconic Kirin Whip in our collection. Its chain is the reason Hollywood whip master Anthony De Longis called our tapered construction "the best he's ever seen in a metal whip." It's the whip our founder reaches for when he wants to show the world what a real Chinese Kirin Whip can do.
As one of Anthony's top whip students, Gaëlane O'Toole, said after her first session with a Kirin Whip: "Chain whips are a different beast entirely from bullwhips, but what a thrill! Heavier, louder... Wilder. It's dangerous, it's beautiful, and the iPhone mic does NOT do that thunder any justice."
The Dragon Bone chain is what every other Chinese chain whip tries — and fails — to imitate. Each link is hand-welded from 304 stainless steel, the same grade used in surgical instruments and marine hardware. Corrosion-resistant. Lifetime-durable. And forged into a shape that gives this whip its signature look: the dragon's backbone.
From handle to tip, the chain tapers through 10 precisely-engineered stages. Each stage is thinner than the last — thicker links near the handle for stability, smaller links at the tip for speed. The result is a continuous, organic flow of kinetic energy that's more like a living creature than a piece of metal.
This is what Anthony held in his hands during our 38-minute video call. This is the chain that made him stop mid-sentence and say: "The best I've ever seen."
Seven weight options, each with a different chain length and overall size.

If you're new to chain whips, start here. Light enough to learn proper form without fatigue, yet substantial enough to crack properly. Ideal weights: 1.76 lb (0.8 kg), 1.98 lb (0.9 kg), or 2.20 lb (1.0 kg).
Practicing set routines, body wraps, sharp direction changes, or intricate tricks? Lighter weights give you the speed and fluidity required for complex flow-art techniques.
Want the full sonic boom? The earth-shaking crack that lives up to Gaëlane's "Heavier, louder, wilder" description? Choose 3.31 lb (1.5 kg) or 4.41 lb (2.0 kg). These weights build real strength and deliver the stadium-filling thunder that made the Kirin Whip famous in China.
"The Dragon Bone is the whip I reach for when someone asks me what a real Kirin Whip feels like. It is not the lightest we make, nor the heaviest — but it is the one that carries the soul of this craft. When Anthony De Longis held it on camera and called the tapered chain 'the best he's ever seen,' I knew the thunder was crossing borders at last."
"Every Dragon Bone leaves our Dengfeng workshop hand-inspected. If it doesn't crack like thunder, we don't ship it."
