Eighteen Arhats. Eighteen Links.

A 304 stainless steel Kirin Whip built from exactly eighteen long links — named for the eighteen guardians of Shaolin legend.

Count the chain and you'll get eighteen — no more, no fewer. That number is the whole idea behind this whip. Each link is longer than the links on our standard Kirin Whips, so the chain travels in fewer, bigger steps: A HEAVIER, MORE DELIBERATE SWING & A DEEP, SOLID CRACK

The chain is 304 stainless steel — rust-proof, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic — set in a fixed black rosewood handle and finished with a firm-braided Whip Fall tuned to those long links.

The name
十八罗汉

Shíbā Luóhàn — "the Eighteen Arhats." In Chinese Buddhism they are the eighteen enlightened guardians of the Dharma, and at the Shaolin Temple their name runs through the martial tradition itself — from the temple's Arhat halls to Eighteen Arhat Hands, one of Shaolin's oldest forms.

Eighteen guardians, eighteen links. Every link on this chain stands for one of them.

WHY THIS WHIP

Fewer Links. More Weight Behind Each One.

◆ 01
Exactly 18 Long Links
Longer links than our standard chains give the whip a bigger, more grounded rhythm and a fuller sound.
◆ 02
304 Stainless Steel
Food- and medical-grade alloy: rust-proof, corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic, and bright for years.
◆ 03
Matched Firm Whip Fall
Long links need a different balance, so the fall is braided firmer and sized for this chain — a crack with real punch.

CHOOSE YOUR WEIGHT

Same Length. Two Chain Gauges.

STANDARD
2.2 lb
1 kg
The lighter chain gauge. Quicker in the hand and easier on the wrist — the better pick for flowing routines and longer sessions.
HEAVY
2.5 lb
1.15 kg
A thicker chain gauge at the same overall length. More momentum, more force, a heavier crack — for practitioners who already have solid control.

Both weights share identical lengths — only the thickness of the chain changes.

Before You Buy

Good to know
  • This is not a beginner's whip. At 2.2–2.5 lb with long links, it rewards solid basics. If you've never cracked a chain whip, start lighter.
  • The Whip Fall is matched to this chain. Because the link ratio differs from our standard whips, our regular falls aren't a like-for-like swap. Message us before replacing it.
  • Hand-assembled, so expect small variations — up to about ±0.8 in (±2 cm) in length. It makes no difference to performance.
What's in the Box

Your whip arrives fully assembled — ready to crack the moment you unbox it.

  • 1 × Eighteen Arhats Kirin Whip (handle + 304 stainless steel chain + Whip Fall + popper)
  • 1 × Roll of Tail Ribbon — about 148 ft (45 m), enough to cut many replacement poppers
Shipping & Delivery

Orders leave us within 2–5 days. They travel about 2 days to our international freight partner in Guangdong, then 8–15 days overseas.

From order to doorstep, most customers receive their whip in about 2–3 weeks. You'll get a tracking number once it's on its way.

6-Month Warranty & Repairs

Every whip is covered for 6 months from delivery. If something goes wrong with it in that time, we'll repair it.

Shipping both ways (to us and back to you) is paid by the customer. Poppers and Whip Falls wear with use, so normal wear on these parts isn't covered — that's what the spare Tail Ribbon is for.

About 304 Stainless Steel

304 is the most widely used grade of stainless steel — the same food- and medical-grade alloy found in surgical instruments and cookware. It is rust-proof, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic.

For a whip, that means a chain that stays bright and clean through years of handling and sweat.

⚔ A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

"Most chains are built from many short links. This one has eighteen long ones, and you feel the difference on the very first swing — slower, heavier, more deliberate, with a crack that lands like a drum. It's a whip with a name worth living up to."
