The Threaded Kirin Whip — Forged Steel, Polished Power

This is the Threaded Kirin Whip — also known in our Dengfeng workshop as the nut-forged whip. Every single link begins its life as a solid hex nut: hand-selected, industrial-grade, forged steel. Each nut is then pressed flat in our workshop press, transforming a functional hardware piece into a sculpted link of unmistakable beauty.

The result is a chain like no other. On the outside, each link wears a softly rounded, arc-shaped surface that catches light and glides past its neighbor without friction. On the inside, the original threaded texture of the hex nut remains — a hidden signature that gives this chain its extraordinary combination of wear-resistance and smoothness. Durable beyond reason. Silken in motion.

Ten Stages. Forged From Steel.

Every link of the Threaded Kirin begins as an individual hex nut — the same kind of forged-steel hardware used in heavy industry. Our craftsmen hand-select each nut, then feed it through a specialized press that flattens the nut into an oval link, preserving the internal threading while creating a smooth, arc-shaped outer surface.

This manufacturing method is unique to the threaded Kirin family. It demands more steel, more time, and more precision than standard chain-making — but the payoff is extraordinary. The threaded interior creates a micro-textured contact surface at every joint, which delivers the unusual combination of high durability and silken articulation. The polished exterior reflects light like liquid silver in motion.

From handle to tip, the chain tapers through 10 precisely-engineered stages — heaviest at the handle for controlled grip, finest at the tip for whip-crack speed. Each transition is seamless to the eye, and unmistakable to the hand.

◆ YOUR WHIP HEAD, MATCHED TO YOUR WEIGHT ◆
ULTRA-SOFT DYNEEMA HEAD
For whips 1.2 kg / 2.65 lb and under
Hand-woven with the inverted-8-strand weave preferred by China's top masters. Exceptionally pliable — transmits the crack of lighter whips with unmatched precision.
FLAT-PLAIT DYNEEMA HEAD
For whips 1.5 kg / 3.31 lb and above
Hand-woven with the classical flat-plait weave, balanced firmness. Heavier chains transfer more force — a slightly firmer head channels that energy cleanly without collapsing.

Three Paths. One Art.

BEGINNER
1.32 – 1.76 lb
0.6 – 0.8 kg
Start here if you've never held a chain whip. Light enough to learn control and form without fatiguing the wrist. Master the 14 core movements faster — and safer.
FORM & FLOW
2.20 – 3.31 lb
1.0 – 1.5 kg
The sweet spot for routines, demonstrations, and flow practice. Enough weight to generate clean arcs and crisp cracks — light enough for complex sequences and extended sessions.
POWER
4.41 – 5.51 lb
2.0 – 2.5 kg
For practitioners who want maximum crack volume and striking force. Demands proper technique and wrist strength. Produces the loudest, most powerful thunder in the Threaded Kirin range.

⚔ A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

"The Threaded Kirin is the whip I hand to students who ask about durability. Every link is forged from a hex nut — the hardest starting steel we use anywhere in the workshop. These whips have traveled the world, been used in demonstrations, been dropped and hammered against concrete, and they keep on moving like the day we shipped them."

"It's also one of the most beautiful whips we make. The rounded outer surface catches light in a way our other chains simply cannot. Every Threaded Kirin leaving our Dengfeng workshop has been hand-inspected. If the chain doesn't flow perfectly — we don't ship it."
